Backyard Salsa

Authentic Mexican Tomato Salsa is a recipe that I found while searching the internet for good homemade salsa. I adapted the recipe so I could add just a little touch of me to the flavor. The combination of the fresh ingredients gave it such a delicate flavor. Check it out...step by step photos, Enjoy!!!

To start this wonderful salsa dish off, you will need 2 jalapeno peppers ( add more for more spice), 1 small red onion, 3 large riped tomatoes, 3 green onion tops, 1 clove garlic, 1 Anaheim green chili, 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro, 1 tbs. olive oil, 1 squeeze lime, 1 tbs. apple cider vinegar.

Second step, you will want to char the tomatoes over a gas grill or under the flame of a hot broiler for a few seconds, turning them until the peel begins to blister. The char tomatoes give the salsa dish such a warm and earthy flavor.

Slip off the peel, and the flesh will still be firm. Leaving you with a good looking bright red tomato. Ready to chop!!!!

Remove the green stem core and cut the tomatoes in half vertically.

Use a spoon to scoop out the tomato seeds or a teaspoon...it worked fine for me.

After you have chopped all of the first ingredients now its time to put everything in the food processor even the chopped chili seeds. It all depends on how chunky you like your salsa...So process with brief pulses to reach your desired texture. Don't forget to add the olive oil and apple cider vinegar.

You still want to be able to see bits of all the vegetables. Don't forget to add salt and pepper to taste. Let it sit for about an hour to get all the flavors to mix.

Time to Eat Guys!!!!!
