Debra's Oopsy Mac & Cheese

This recipe is so famous in our household. It was created by my mom who ran out of whole milk and she decided to use evaporated milk. While crossing her fingers hoping she did not mess it up she realize that after the mac & cheese was done that the oopsy version was a lot better. Now we can't have mac & cheese without it and believe me it gives the mac & cheese a sweet and creamy flavor. I also notice that the evaporated milk keeps it from curdling, unlike whole milk would curdle during baking. Thanks for the oopsy Mom. We can't have mac & cheese without it!!!

Ingredients:
Macaroni
Any Cheese, I used Cheddar
1 can Evaporated Milk
1/2 stick Butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Boil macaroni in salt water for 7 to 8 minutes. You still want the macaroni to be firm because the process will be finish cooking in the oven. Drain the pasta and mix 1/2 butter into the pasta, pour 1 can of evaporated milk, Add the cheese. Put into a glass dish and place in oven until cheese is melted. As it cools it will thicken up.

The good stuff!!!!

  2. So funny! Earlier I saw a cake made with condensed milk instead of eggs, now I see this mouth-watering mac 'n cheese made with evaporated milk instead of regular milk. Both are terrific!
