Five Days of Sightseeing & Eating in San Juan Puerto Rico

First Stop...Check In at Conrad San Juan Condado Plaza

The Conrad is a nice hotel in an OK location...first impression!!! The hotel lobby was pretty different than what I was expecting. It reminded me of a John Travolta Saturday night fever disco scene. Ok i think i can deal with disco...time to move on!! I was not that thrilled about our hotel rooms and yes I said rooms with an (s). Our first room had fruit flies flying over the bed and over our heads...yuck. The view was horrible...I personally did not want to see the top of some building and the street. Time to Move!!! The second room smelled like the sea...very fishy and humid :( Not looking good guys...at this time i am getting very depressed and agitated now. So then we moved to our third room which was a lot better and had a nicer view...overlooking the Atlantic ocean!!! Yes, The Room Trouble Finally Ends!!!

The location of the hotel was in an area that was o.k. After walking about 5 to 10 minutes down Ashford Ave. there were a range of restaurants, bars, and high end stores. One particular restaurant that i enjoyed was the Ocean Front. The food was awesome...sorry no pics I kinda ate all of my food before thinking about taking pictures. I had black bean soup and the best refried beans. Very Good!!! The hotel beach was lacking and had a lot of lava rocks, but if you continue down Ashford Ave. about a 10 minute walk it will take you to a nicer beach.

The night life down Ashford Ave was pretty o.k. It looked a lot better at night than it did during the day. Alot of hangouts for teenagers....very busy street. If you are looking to dance all night long don't expect to find anything on this Ave. it was just an hang out spot.

Overall the hotel and location was o.k. The hotel front desk staff and concierge were very friendly and helpful. The casino looked nice which we did not use. We had a nice view of the Atlantic Ocean. During the day the island breeze was awesome....its a little humid at night but durable. The pool area was very nice. Nice exercise room. There was a Starbucks next to the hotel for all the coffee lovers. You were 5 minutes away from Old San Juan....that was a plus. So if I had to rate the Conrad San Juan Condado Plaza I would give it 4.5 stars!!!
Sorry guys no thumbs up for this one!!
