Fresh Cherry Cobbler

I love cherry cobbler and i love it more when cherries are in season. It may take a little longer to pit the cherries, but its well worthy when you take a bite of the finished product. So, enjoy a delightful Friday dessert and don't forget the ice cream or better yet the whipped cream. Cherries!!!



Ingredients:
Fresh Pitted Cherries
1/2 cup soft butter
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup honey
1 tsp. of baking powder
1 cup of vanilla soy milk

Heat the oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, stir together 1 cup of flour, baking powder, and soft butter. Make sure you rub in the butter. Mix the milk and the honey together. Pour the liquid mixture into the dry ingredients bowl and mix well. Place cherries into a baking dish and add a little honey and flour to the cherries. Pour the well mixed ingredients over the cherries. Do not stir. You can sprinkle some cinnamon on top of the dough. Baked for 50 minutes or until golden brown. You can stick a toothpick into the cobbler dough and it should come out clean.

  7. Don't know exactly how many cherries i used...I purchased the cherries from a local market and used maybe half the bag of sweet Starr Ranch Growers cherries. I baked the cobbler in a 8 x 11.5 x 2 in. high baking dish. Serves about 12 slices, but it all depends on how big or small you want your piece. I hope this helped Sawyer.
