Mofongo with Shrimp....sightseeing & eating in San Juan

El Mofongo

First time for everything, right?!!! Well it was my first time eating a mofongo and it was delicious. A very creative dish that mixes two local Puerto Rican ingredients...mashed green plantain and shrimp. You can add any combination of meats, seafood or vegetables in the core of the dish. My choice was the shrimp...Check it out, it was delicious!!! Best place to get a Mofongo in Puerto Rico is El Jibarito. Very GOOD, ENJOY!!!

  5. I love El jibarito. The great thing about mofongo is the combination of mashed plantains and pork rinds, plus any other added meat. Yuca mofongo is awesome, too. That type of mofongo tastes like fried mashed potatoes.
