Light and Airy Yeast Free Pizza Dough

shrimp pizza
I thought I was done messing around with trying to find a good yeast free pizza dough recipe. I came up with two already, but I’m still not satisfied. I guess I’m still looking for that lightness and airiness that you get from yeast dough.  So, I came up with this version and used carbonated water.  I did not know if the carbonated water was going to give me that light and airy texture, but it’s worth the try.  After the pizza was done, I was very pleased with the ending results. The pizza was light and it had a couple of air pockets. Just make sure you pull this dough out extra thin. I think that also helped with it being light and airy.

Ingredients: Topping
Shrimp
Tomato Sauce
Red Onions
Green Bell Peppers
Any Cheese ( I used Parmesan Cheese)

Ingredients: Pizza Crust
2 cups Whole Wheat Flour ( you can use white flour)
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2/3 cup carbonated water
Sprinkle of Italian seasoning & garlic powder

Mix the flour, baking powder, seasonings, and salt in a large bowl. Mix the carbonated water, and olive oil to the dry ingredients. The dough should be sticky at this point. You can add more flour to the mixture if you want a more spreadable dough. I did not add extra flour. I added olive oil to the bottom of the stone and took the sticky dough and spread it out thin with my fingers onto the pizza stone. Place the pizza in a preheated 425 degree oven for about 10 to 15 minutes. With fingers or brush spread olive oil on pizza crust ( it helps so tomato sauce don’t soak into the crust)  than put tomato sauce on and add your desire toppings. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. You may want to cover the edges of the pizza with aluminum foil so they want get to crispy.

    1. Flour doesn't contain yeast, yeast is bought and added seperately.

  3. Flour is not yeast and they have nothing to do with each other. My question is WHY no yeast?

  4. Flour & yeats are not the same thing, they are completely different things. I want to know WHY, would you want a pizza dough with no yeast? That has nothing to do with gluten if that's what you think.
