Salmon Cakes

Salmon Cakes

If you are looking for a good way to boost your intake of omega 3 try eating salmon patties. Its simple and easy to make and the best part is that it’s a good way to use convenient canned salmon.

All ingredients were not measured so I leave the spice judgment up to the individual cook, Happy Patty!!!

Ingredients: Make 6 patties
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, diced
Panko bread crumbs about 1/3 cup
2 cans of Salmon
1 large egg
pinch cayenne pepper
chili powder
garlic powder
Thyme
parsley
onion tops
salt and pepper
Millet flour

Saute onions, garlic and jalapeno peppers in some olive oil. Once the onions are translucent you can set them aside and let them cool down. Remove the water from the canned salmon and place salmon in a bowl with the spices and bread crumbs. Taste mixture before adding the egg because you may need to readjust the flavors. Once the flavor is how you like it you can begin to add the egg and the onions and jalapeno peppers. Make patties and roll them in the millet flour or any flour you may choose to use. In a heavy pan over low medium heat pour 1/3 cup of canola oil in the pan. Add patties; Fry patties slowly on one side turning patties and frying until brown on the other side.
